Director of Thrift Store Operations, Oxnard

OrganizationRescue Mission Alliance (RMA), a Christian non-profit located in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Director of Thrift Store Operations. Responsibilities include working with the CEO and CFO to provide leadership, direction, and management of this high volume enterprise that converts donated goods into funds used to help those in need. Reports monthly on accountability for plans, activities, and results against budget. Works with Call Center Manager to coordinate solicitation of GIK donations. Works with Thrift Store leadership team to hire, train, and develop all dispatch, production, and retail employees. Ensures facilities and equipment for operations are well maintained. SummaryReporting to the Director of Ventura County Rescue Mission, the Lighthouse Director is responsible to oversee the development and implementation of all ministry services provided, planning, goal setting, program organization, budgeting, decision making, personnel recruiting, motivating, training, and ministry improvements in alignment with RMA’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Encourage direct reports to facilitate and model commitment to fundraising, assist with community and church relations, ensure collaboration with local churches, agencies, school districts, and government boards to affect an integrated program capable of meeting the felt needs within the community. This is a full-time, exempt position located in Oxnard, CA. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience, and includes benefits.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThis position will oversee a growing ministry to the hungry, homeless, and addicted women and women with children in Ventura County, including communicating to individuals, churches, civic groups, and other organizations to solicit financial and volunteer support and educate the community regarding our ministry.

QualificationsDesired qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus a minimum of five years of ministry, management, and non-profit experience; Bible School / Seminary degree preferred. Must be a committed Christian woman, member of a local church with exemplary character and a proven ability to lead, initiate, problem-solve, disciple, and pray for clients. Production Worker/Relief Cashier (Part-Time)

Summary - The Production Worker/Relief Cashier is responsible for assisting the production crew to complete all necessary tasks in order to meet production goals in a timely manner. Therefore, their responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business. The Production Worker/Relief Cashier reports directly to the Thrift Store Supervisor and may also get direction from the Lead. This is a part-time, non-exempt regular position. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Duties include, but not limited to preparing, sorting, hanging, cashiering, unloading and cleaning items donated for sale at the Thrift Store.

Qualifications - Experience a plus, but not required.  Need to be able to lift (up to 30 lbs), push, pull, reach, kneel, sort and stand for long periods of time. Route Driver - Oxnard Dispatch, Oxnard

Summary - Duties include picking up donations throughout the San Fernando Valley, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position and may require overtime and/or weekend work. Route Driver position reporting to the Oxnard Dispatch Supervisor. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime and benefits according to applicable guidelines.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload truck utilizing proper lifting techniques. Safely negotiate in a variety of environments, e.g. steep stairs, uneven surfaces. Prior to daily route, inspect all vehicles and maintain vehicle supplies such as gas, oil, water, tires, etc. to ensure vehicle is kept in proper working condition. Keeps vehicle maintenance record. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to supervisor. Read and understand the Thomas Guide, maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Obey all traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures. Communicate with Receptionist by use of two way radio. Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws regulating safe driving, and RMA policies and procedures.  Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported. Maintain a safe driving record and appropriate driver's license classification while operating company vehicles.

Warehouse Worker (Full-time) - Oxnard Bargain Center, Oxnard

SummaryThe Warehouse Worker position will assist production crew and retail staff to complete all necessary tasks in order to complete production goals. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, California at Oxnard Bargain Center and reports to the Production Supervisor. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain organization and cleanliness of production and warehouse including parking lot and front entrance of store, relieve Janitor duties when needed, close production and staging areas, front area support (hangers and carry out), separate salable items from recycle, baler, and trash. Unload trucks when necessary, operate forklift, perform ‘floater’ and ‘unloader’ duties, put out remaining merchandise onto sales floor, and load textiles and e-waste. Make sure all recyclables are labeled and in compliance with EPA. Development Assistant  - San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, North Hollywood

SummaryThe Development Assistant supports our Home Again Capital Campaign to raise $6 million for the remodeling and opening of a 90-bed family shelter in Northridge. The primary focus of this position is providing the ground work for the individual donor portion of the campaign, developing and cultivating existing and potential individual donors, and managing the general administration of the campaign.

The Development Assistant will manage the database and departmental systems and support a wide range of relationship-building activities and special events. The position involves occasional weekend and evening assignments. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located at the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission in North Hollywood, CA and reports to the Director. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesParticipate in campaign strategy sessions with the Director, Community Relations Coordinator, and other members of the Capital Campaign Team for lead and major donor solicitation. Provide scheduling and planning support to the Director and other members of the Capital Campaign Team. Provide administrative support - including, but not limited to, organizing meetings and coordinating follow-up tasks- to the Capital Campaign Team and other committees that may be staffed by the Director. Maintain and expand the donor database to include moves management and biographical information. Assist in the planning and execution of donor fulfillment programs, cultivation activities, and fundraising events and with special events (e.g. tours, etc.). Conduct donor/prospect research. Department or organization-related duties or special projects as directed. Work as a team with other Rescue Mission Alliance employees to the greater good of the overall ministry. Participate in applicable staff meetings, training sessions, and other San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission or Rescue Mission Alliance meetings. Volunteer Coordinator - Central Coast Rescue Mission, Santa Maria

SummaryThe Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting in effective strategies to help build exciting new partnerships with the Central Coast Rescue Mission (CCRM). Maintain documentation of volunteer process (filing, organizing, etc.), Manage volunteer inquiries through email, phone, personal contact, and presentations, database and schedules, oversee the volunteer recruitment, selection, equipping, and leading CCRM, work collaboratively with other Rescue Mission Alliance Volunteer Coordinators, and other staff in order to support and implement Church Partnership initiatives and strategies. Security Guard (Part-time) - Victor Valley Super Thrift Store, Hesperia

SummaryThe Security Guard position is responsible for the safety and security of Victor Valley Super Thrift Store, customers, guests, and staff and reports to the Thrift Store Supervisor. This is a part-time, non-exempt regular position located in Hesperia CA. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and is overtime eligible.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Provide a visible security presence to ensure the safety and security of RMA facilities, customers, guest and staff, patrol premises to detect and prevent suspicious occurrences, theft, unsafe conditions and potential conflicts, enforce parking rules and Thrift Store policies and procedures. Respond to and investigate potential situations, warn violators of rule infractions, apprehend or evict violators from premises when necessary, observe and report in writing any unusual activity or potentially dangerous situation, contact supervisor if situations escalate or presents a danger. Fill out DAR / Incident Reports and Victim / Witness Reports, pay attention to significant details, follow patrol orders and post orders to the letter, phone for assistance when needed (Police, Paramedics, Fire, etc.), secure all gates, windows, doors, entries, buildings, freezers, pantries, etc., perform security “safety sweeps” of the main floor twice an hour. Loss prevention (apprehension of suspects), carry out and receives donations when necessary. Attend all training classes and meetings. Be familiar with Thrift Store Emergency Evacuation Plan.
